  • Semester 2 Begins

    Hello! Here I am, once again, popping up from the blue after many many months away. Class is starting up again, so I feel like I'll maybe have a little more motivation to share things.

    A quick Purim primer from MyJewishLearning.Com: The history: “A young Jewish woman, Esther, rises to be Queen of Persia under the tutelage of her guardian Mordecai. All, however, is not right. The Jews have enemies, and a certain Haman, the grand vizier, plots the Jews’ destruction. Even though Esther has hidden her Jewish identity from all, Mordecai prevails on her to risk her life by revealing her true identity to the king. She does this and denounces the evil Haman’s plot.   • LJL #1- Life Cycles 1 – Birth

    First class was really cool! It was apparently a sort of non-traditional start to the class because we had an interesting guest speaker who was available for the first half but not the second. We got into the nitty gritty details of how the class was going to work at the end.

    So I’ve started doing some of the reading for class (you know, the one that doesn’t start for 2 more weeks?) and I’ve got a bit of a study plan worked out, that I’m going to write here to share and to keep track.
